L'Occitane Ruban d'Orange soft skin milk

This is a product from L'Occitane's orange range which i think has already passed a long time ago.

This body moisturizer is not greasy at all. Absorbs fast into your body and doesn't leave greasy residue unlike other moisturizers.

The scent is citrusy, but i don't really like the after smell. I wished it was more citrusy and fresh. The texture is great though, really like milk, only thicker. very easy to apply too.

L'Occitane Citrus Verbena Sorbet Body Cream

Given Description:
Enriched with moisturizing lemon, this splendid body cream softens and awakens skin. Its light and pleasing texture provides a refreshing and cooling sensation, leaving skin feeling smooth and delicately perfumed with the sparkling scent of citrus and verbena.

Smooth onto moist or dry and clean skin.

Quoted from L'Occitane.com.sg website

When i sampled this at the L'Occitane shop, i was quite pleased with the texture of the cream so i bought this. And furthermore, since this is a sorbet and not a heavy cream, it's perfect for Singapore's hot and humid weather.

The refreshing scent of the cream ( i like the verbena range a lot, especially the body wash) also freshens you up.

One thing i really like about this cream is it absorbs really quickly, and is not greasy at all, so i've started putting on body cream after my showers. Normally, i don't do that because most of the body moisturizing creams i have are quite thick and a little bit greasy so i hate to walk around feeling so sticky you know? With those type of heavy creams, i save them for just before bedtime, so that i can tuck into bed with my air conditioner blowing and not feel sticky.

With a protective seal. I like this, because then you don't have to worry so much about keeping the cream unused for some time before finally opening it. (that doesn't mean you should leave the product unused for too long though! Most products have an expiry date)

I also noticed that my hands feel rather sticky with this on. I can't explain it, it feels perfectly fine on the rest of my body but on my hands it feels sticky. Hmm? I tend to wash my hands after using this cream. And the scent smells a bit artificial when applied in large amounts. Again, i can't explain why.

Costs i think $55-$60? Can't remember the price.

Anyway, if you like light, non-greasy creams, then this is for you. Overall, a not-bad cream. If only the sticky hands and artificial smell didn't occur..

Origins Paradise Found moisturizing cream

Given Description:
To escape to paradise, simply massage this seductively smooth cream over body skin after bath or shower. Feel how mega-moisturizing Apricot, Grape Seed and Rice Bran Oils melt right in to silken and soften skin. And let the unmistakable aroma of fresh-cut Pineapple and Orange take you away to a land of languid waterfalls, lush flowers and deep turquoise skies. Skin is left softly scented with the exotic fragrance of the tropics.

Quoted from: Origins website

This has got to be one of my favourite body moisturizing creams in a long long time. If you love fruity scents, this one's perfect for you!

when i first smelled this product, i was blown away by the scent. I seriously love the smell of this moisturizing cream. Often, product descriptions aren't true to the product and they tend to make the product sound better than it really is. For this one, this cream fits the description EXACTLY. Im transported onto white beaches filled with silky white sand and the gentle sea breeze ruffling my hair as the turquoise waves of the sea gently lap on the shore.

The cream itself isn't too greasy either, and absorbs into the skin, leaving it wonderfully scented. love love love this cream.

Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ Truly paradise found. 5 stars for this one.

Body Shop strawberry puree body lotion

Given Description:
A light, creamy and easily-absorbed all-over body moisturizer with sumptuously sweet strawberry scent, which helps condition, soften and smooth the skin. It contains strawberry extract and moisturizing Community Trade organic soy oil.

Pump a generous amount of lotion into your hand and smooth onto the skin. Apply after a bath or shower, as often as required.

Since I'm a fan of strawberries and it's scent, i had high expectations for this product. Sadly however, I was quite disappointed.

The lotion came out with a pretty good consistency, but after rubbing it all over my skin, it becomes sort of watery, like it's water-based or something. Anyway, i didn't like the way it spread at all, too thin and too watery. One good thing though, was that it was absorbed really quickly and left NO grease at all. Some moisturizing products claim to leave no greasy residue but they do, whereas for this, this doesn't at all. So you will have no trouble turning doorknobs, or leaving grease stains on seats when you sit down.

The scent wasn't really nice either. Too artificial, and had a weird smell.

Rating: ♥♥ It fulfils ita job as a moisturizer, and leaves no greasy residue, but I wouldn't recommend this nor would i buy this ever again.

Davidoff Cool Water Game For Her Body Lotion

There isn't a given description for this so i'll just put in my two-cents worth.
The lotion comes a very sporty looking tube, haha im not sure if theres such a thing as 'sporty looking tube' but it is a good size and very easy to tote around.
The lotion is incredibly light, almost gel like texture and spreads very easily. You only need a small amount for a large area and it blends in abnormally fast, leaving your skin lightly scented and smooth.
Now for the scent, I'm not very good at defining scents i must admit. I really don't know what to say about this scent. Smells very fresh...very nice thats for sure! Haha! If you'd really like to know about this product, i suggest you go to a perfume counter that sells this perfume (not the body lotion) and smell the scent. It smells exactly the same.
If you really like this product and the scent, you can layer the lotion underneath the perfume, which would really make the scent stronger and last longer.
Can't remember the retailing price.
Rating: ♥♥♥ ♥/ really good as a lotion because it doesn't leave any sticky residue all over your body.

Issey Miyake L'Eau D'Issey moisturising body lotion and body cream

Left: Body lotion Right: Body cream

Now this is a real step up from the last post. I really like the container of the body cream. No i don't mean the box, i mean the very container. I find it very futuristic, nice.

Anyway, overall i prefer the lotion better. The cream is good, thick, but it smells different from the container and when you apply it on your skin. Smells just a teeny bit off, but still detectable. I would say the scent of these two products reminds me of bed linen and flowers. These creams are hybrids of the original scent L'Eau D'Issey perfume so im sure you'd know these smell good.

The lotion feels more like a gel to me. Very spreadable and absorbtion rate is quick. The lotion smells better too, i reckon, though they are both supposed to be the same.

Available at departmental stores at Issey Miyake counters.

Rating: ♥♥♥ ♥/ Decent body lotion and cream that smells good.

Victoria Secret Body Lotions

From left to right: Pear Glace, Endless Love, Sweet Daydream, My Desire, Strawberry and Champagne

Okay over here i have a couple of body lotions from Victoria's Secret. You maybe wondering why the two bottles on the right look different from the rest but let me assure you they are all from the same line. The two bottles on the right were bought in Canada while the rest in New York. I must say i prefer the design on the Canadian ones though.

Their body lotions are really good. Light and most of all, wonderfully scented. Let me start of by listing what i think of when i smell each lotion.

[1] Pear Glace: I think of forests, pine, body soap, the ocean.

Hmm so i think its rather safe to say that it smells of nature. Very foresty and earthy yet oceany. Hahahaha.

[2] Endless Love: Smells fruity, like Herbal Botanics shampoo

[3] Sweet Daydream: Has a strong fragrance. Undefinably though but still nice.

[4] My Desire: This strangely smells like nail polish from the bottle. However when you apply it on your skin it has a subtle nice fragrance. The lotion also seems lighter than the rest.

[5] Strawberry and Champagne: None of these two come to mind when i smell this. Instead, i just smell something sweet. This doesn't have a very strong definable scent.

Overall, i rate Pear Glace, My Desire and Strawberries and Champagne as my favourite because the fragrance appeals to me the most. Pop by a Victoria Secret Store and find out what you prefer. It's quite hard to choose because Victoria's Secret always comes up with the best fragrances. Their perfumes are heavenly.

Theres one in Herald Sq NY just so you know. The store is two storeys, so prefer to spend lots of time shopping!

Crabtree and Evelyn Naturals Botanical Body Butter in Cocoa Butter, Nutmeg and Cardamom

Given Description:
TYPE: Cocoa Butter
ORIGIN: Central, South America
BENEFITS: Absorbs quickly, helps to moisturize dry, stressed skin and minimize stretch marks on your body.

Cocoa trees generally grow in Central and South America and produce a brown fruit with about three dozen long seeds (cocoa beans). This super body butter emollient is actually made during the manufacture of cocoa and chocolate. Although a solid at room temperature, Cocoa Butter melts on contact with the body, so absorbs quickly into the skin. Cocoa Butter is a good choice for body butters formulated for dry or stressed skin and is used by many women to minimize stretch marks

Sounds great doesn't it? This was given to me by my mum's friend, so it came in a really nice box as you can see.

This is how it looks like. Pity the jar is so small. I don't think you can really see from the picture, but it definitely is smaller than your average jar of body butter.

The cream is cream slightly tan colour. The smell of cardamom and nutmeg is really strong at first, but when you apply this on your body it smells more like cocoa. Let me tell you all, this cream is a GEM okay. It's REALLY good.

The texture is kind of hard at first, not really easy to scoop up, but it spreads really well on your body. As the description says, it melts on your body and becomes easier to spread as compared to when your scooping out of the jar.

I don't know if many will take to the scent, im fine with it but i guess those around my age like below 20 wouldn't like it so much cos it doesn't smell like your conventional sweet fruity lotion. But im fine with it really.

Takes a large amount to cover your legs arms and neck. This body butter is moisturizing and at the same time, not as greasy as others. It's taken me YEARS to find something like this. I've never found a body butter that is super moisturizing yet not greasy before, never even my life and this is one that is absolutely fantastic. Im telling you, use this and you'll love it. Doesn't stain my pajamas either, and they are satin so i guess this must be pretty good.

My stretch marks (yes im embarrassed to admit that i do have some around my thigh area) have also reduced a lot, not sure whether it's due to this cream but they have reduced in appearance. Don't know how much this cream costs, but i think it should be around $50? The last body butter from Crabtree and Evelyn was around that price range anyway. Pricey but GOOD. Trust me, you should get this.

The only bad point? The size. I just wish it were bigger. Haha!

Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ Best body butter i've ever used in my life

L'Occitane lavender tea tree geranium body lotion

Given Description:
Enriched with Grape Seed oil, this body lotion has been formulated to moisturize and nourish even the most sensitive skins. This body lotion contains lavender, tea tree and geranium essential oils and allows you to relax.

This too, has an undefinable smell. I guess thats what you get when you mix three key ingredients together that each have a potent smell. Doesn't smell unpleasant though.

This lotion is absorbed quickly into my skin, leaving an only slightly sticky feeling after. You can test this product out at any L'Occitane Store, because they always have samples and testers for you to try, which is great. Their store is always nicely decorated too, really homely and organic feel. Staff are always very nice, be it in New York, Melbourne or Singapore. I have never encountered an unhelpful staff member in any L'Occitane shop before.

This lotion is light and is white in colour. One would think it is green, due to the colour of the bottle but it is in fact a pure white.

Can't remember how much this costs, but you can of course check it out at any store in Takashimaya Ngee Ann City, or anywhere really, depends on what country you're from.

I don't think it is too pricey though.

When dry, smooth Monoi Moisture Balm over your skin to moisturize.

Instructions: Scoop out with your fingers and massage into your skin as often as required.

This is a moisturizing cream, not lotion. The problem with people is that they always confuse cream with lotion. So im here to enlighten you all. Moisturizing creams are for those with dry skin or those who feel their skin needs a little extra moisturizing. So in a way, creams are more heavy-duty. Their texture is also heavier and thicker, and might feel greasy to some.

Lotions have lighter texture and also absorb quicker into your skin. They can be used conveniently if you are going out soon after, because they absorb quicker than creams and so will not leave an unsightly grease mark on your clothes. Those who do not have very dry skin should use lotions, that should suffice.

Souffles or sorbets are a fancy name for moisturizing creams that have a very light texture, even lighter than lotions. They absorb even quicker and often you can tell that they are souffles/sorbets by just looking at it because the appearance of the cream is more translucent. These are normally supposed to 'refresh' your skin, hence the texture of the cream.

You should be able to tell if a product is a cream, lotion, or souffle/sorbet. They would put it on the packaging and also there should be testers for you to test the product, to see if the texture is what you want and so on.

Well as this particular product im reviewing does not say, it just says it is a balm, let me tell you that this is a cream.

Appearance wise, has the colour of yellow daffodils, maybe a little lighter. I cannot classify the scent at all, it's not floral neither is it citrusy or fruity. I don't particularly like the scent, but my brother says it smells nice so i guess everyone has different opinions. It's not smelly though, thats for sure.

has the texture of a light cream, there is a difference. Some are heavier and thicker, while others are lighter and smoother. This is the latter. An example of a heavy thick cream would be the Crabtree & Evelyn Mango Butter one. Those are really good for very very dry areas, example your feet.

Easy to spread, and leaves your skin smelling lightly scented with the unknown smell. Hahaha, alright. Maybe it is a little floral, i'm not very sure.

The area with the cream on feels slightly greasy/sticky after, so i wouldn't recommend putting this on before going out as it might stain your clothes.

I used up one tub pretty quickly too, which is about 200ml of cream. Well i use it every night before i go to bed.

Costs $38.90SGD from any Bodyshop store. Paragon, Tampines Mall, Heartland Mall and Ngee Ann City all have a Bodyshop.

Rating: ♥♥♥♥ Not bad

Taken from : http://store.crabtree-evelyn.com/collections-naturals.html

I really love the packaging of this product. A nice rust coloured glass tub that stores the cream inside. Really easy to unscrew too.

The cream smells divine, i guess thats the reason why i bought this in the first place. It smells absolutely heavenly, one of those smells-good-enough-to-eat products.

I heard though, that Crabtree & Evelyn use a lot of fragrances in their products so i wouldn't recommend their products to those with sensitive skin. My mum suffered an allergic reaction after using one of their lotions, specifically their Rose lotion, so yes, do avoid if you have sensitive skin.

This body butter is very creamy and thick. Not very easy to spread and leaves your skin feeling a little sticky, but i guess its the same for all body butters, like those in Bodyshop. I used it up surprisingly quick though. I do feel that my skin is smoother and softer so yeah, i think this product is rather good.

DO NOT EAT IT THOUGH.

I bought this in a Crabtree and Evelyn store in Paragon basement, beside Starbucks. You should be able to find this in any store however. Retails for $65. Not cheap but smells lovely and leaves your skin smooth.

Rating: ♥♥♥ ♥/ Three and a half hearts. Smells great but leaves your body sticky. May not be good for sensitive skins too.
