* Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion

Given description:
Your skin naturally renews itself every four to five weeks. So treat it as gently as possible with Cetaphil® Moisturizers, originally formulated for dermatologists to treat dry, sensitive skin. Cetaphil® Moisturizers are fragrance-free to prevent irritation, with emollients and humectants to rejuvenate your skin.

Non-comedogenic Cetaphil® Moisturizing Lotion is an elegant, non-greasy formulation that is mild, non-irritating and long lasting. The cosmetically appealing formulation contains emollients and humectants to bind moisture to the skin. The fragrance-free moisturizer contains no lanolins or parabens that could irritate sensitive skin.

Now all those who suffer from allergies or simply have sensitive skin are probably well versed with the brand Cetaphil. Cetaphil is a brand all dermatologists recommend for those who have allergies/sensitive skin etc. It is a fragrance free, non-comedogenic, and paraben/lanolin free.

This has no scent (duh, because it's fragrance free), and has a semi gel-like texture. I know that might be kind of hard to visualize, but yeah, it's sort of like a cross between a gel and a cream. Does not really feel too oily on my skin thankfully.

This cream was a saviour during my rash days, when the doctor prescribed it to me and i was unable to use anything else. My skin was dry and itchy and i could only use this so yes, thanks Cetaphil!

Unfortunately, i have the worst skin. Eczema, oily and pimply. After using this cream, my skin became really smooth. Not that there was no pimples, i did have pimples, but the texture of the pimple-free areas was really smooth. I was quite pleasantly surprised because i didn't expect a product that has no fancy ingredients or names to do such wonders for my skin.

This product costs between $15-$20 SGD. You should be able to get this at any pharmacy.

Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ i would really recommend this to those with sensitive or allergy prone skin and are just looking for a moisturizer that won't irritate their skin.

Well firstly i want to clarify the asterix in the title. As i said in the previous post, i recently suffered from a eczema outbreak that i found out was due to dustmites. However, during that period when i had the eczema on my face, i was using a couple of products. The products that i used during that period are marked with an asterix, so my review on them might be partially biased as i thought that one of them could have caused the rash.

Okay i was using this product way before i had an outbreak, so i don't think this contributed to it. It states here that it is for sensitive skin, but im not sure how true that is.

The texture of this cream is light. I used it as a day and night cream, because i didn't think it was necessary for me to have a proper night cream. The smell of this is a little odd, undefinable. Absorbs fairly quickly into skin, leaving an oily feel and sheen to your skin. I would suggest not applying too much to avoid such things from happening.

I quite liked this cream when i started using it. In fact, this is my first moisturizing lotion! I'm not using this now anymore, because the doctor prescribed something else to me to use when we were trying to determine the cause of my rash.

This product is cheap, so i would recommend this if you are on a tight budget. Works well too.

You can get this at any pharmacy like Guardian or Watsons.

rating: ♥♥♥♥ I really did quite like this

sorry.

Sorry for such a lengthy hiatus due to many factors. I had my EOY exams recently so i had no time to come and post. Also, i had eczema on my face (yes i know, the horrors!). At first, i thought it was some allergic reaction to a sunblock product, but then i went to the Doctor's and found out that it was eczema. A real bummer, because if it's an allergic reaction it won't be for life but eczema? Eczema is for life.

The eczema wasn't caused by any product (THANKFULLY), but because of dustmites. I don't know whether to be happy or sad with my condition, because dustmites are everywhere and if i have such a high allergy to them, i can get the eczema flare up anytime, which sucks.

Ahh well, at least i can still use products. Thats one comfort. So im going to be posting soon, maybe even now, so yup, look forward for more updates! I have soooo many products to review, so i just want to make time to do what i love doing best, trying them out. :)

stay tuned :)

Bodyshop Olive Glossing Shampoo & Conditioner

Olive Glossing Shampoo

Conditioner

Given Description:
Specialist glossing shampoo and conditioner, with Community Trade organic olive oil, to add shine and put the oomph back into dull, lifeless hair. With added wheat amino acids for softness, Community Trade organic honey to condition, and antioxidant olive leaf extract to help protect from environmental damage, it's a veritable cocktail of Mother Nature's finest.

Well this description was taken off the website, Bodyshop doesn't normally do descriptions on their product packaging. They don't normally have instructions on their products as well, so thats a bit of inconvienience. Just remember to ask the salesgirls at the shop how to use the product when you buy it, and write the instructions down if you forget things easily. Or you can always look on the website for instructions. However nothing beats having the intructions on the bottle itself.

They don't have nice descriptions either, which is a pity, cos im the type of customer that likes reading what the product is all about and such. I always like Origins product descriptions and L'Occitane ones too.

Anyway, back to the product. This has an okay scent, not very strong. I don't think it'll be good for washing away strong odours from your hair, like cigarette smoke but im not very sure cos i've never tried doing that. The scent isn't very strong thats all.

The consistency of the shampoo is good, enough foam and not too liquidy. A 50 cent coin amount is enough for my shoulder length crop. I know they always tell you to use less than a 20 ct amount if you have shorter hair but honestly, i don't like coming out of the shower feeling as though my hair hasn't been washed clean.

This shampoo is gentle enough for everyday use. I wash my hair everyday, and it doesn't seem to get to dried out by this shampoo. The conditioner is also not bad.

You can get this at any Bodyshop store. I forgot the price though, oops. There are Bodyshop stores in Kovan, Tampines Mall, Paragon and etc. They have lots of stores here in spore, so you don't have to worry about not being able to find their shop.

Rating: ♥♥♥ An average shampoo. I would say you can get better shampoos at cheaper prices

Issey Miyake L'Eau D'Issey moisturising body lotion and body cream

Left: Body lotion Right: Body cream

Now this is a real step up from the last post. I really like the container of the body cream. No i don't mean the box, i mean the very container. I find it very futuristic, nice.

Anyway, overall i prefer the lotion better. The cream is good, thick, but it smells different from the container and when you apply it on your skin. Smells just a teeny bit off, but still detectable. I would say the scent of these two products reminds me of bed linen and flowers. These creams are hybrids of the original scent L'Eau D'Issey perfume so im sure you'd know these smell good.

The lotion feels more like a gel to me. Very spreadable and absorbtion rate is quick. The lotion smells better too, i reckon, though they are both supposed to be the same.

Available at departmental stores at Issey Miyake counters.

Rating: ♥♥♥ ♥/ Decent body lotion and cream that smells good.

SJ Spa Ice Cream Dream Bath Fizzers

Given Description:

Ice Cream Dream Fruit Sorbet Scented Fizzers

A bath time treat so luxurious you will feel like you are bathing in champagne!

The packaging of this item is extremely adorable, thats the reason why i bought this in the first place. Pink cover with polka dotted base and such a nice name, whats not to love?
However, this only proves one point. Don't be fooled by appearances.
As much anticipation i had for this product, which looked promising, i was severely let down by the quality of it. The description of it on the packaging was so tempting, but it turned out to be everything other than that.
Sure, they fizz like what they are supposed to do. However, the smell is totally off-putting. I wouldn't say it is SMELLY, but i'd say the fragrance is nothing nice. And these fizzers don't even fizz right to the end, they fizz partially, leaving a block of it unfizzed. I don't know why.
I bought this in Century 21's basement for bout 5 USD. Even though its cheap, it's not worth it AT ALL.
Rating: ♥ one of the lowest ratings ever.

Victoria Secret Body Lotions

From left to right: Pear Glace, Endless Love, Sweet Daydream, My Desire, Strawberry and Champagne

Okay over here i have a couple of body lotions from Victoria's Secret. You maybe wondering why the two bottles on the right look different from the rest but let me assure you they are all from the same line. The two bottles on the right were bought in Canada while the rest in New York. I must say i prefer the design on the Canadian ones though.

Their body lotions are really good. Light and most of all, wonderfully scented. Let me start of by listing what i think of when i smell each lotion.

[1] Pear Glace: I think of forests, pine, body soap, the ocean.

Hmm so i think its rather safe to say that it smells of nature. Very foresty and earthy yet oceany. Hahahaha.

[2] Endless Love: Smells fruity, like Herbal Botanics shampoo

[3] Sweet Daydream: Has a strong fragrance. Undefinably though but still nice.

[4] My Desire: This strangely smells like nail polish from the bottle. However when you apply it on your skin it has a subtle nice fragrance. The lotion also seems lighter than the rest.

[5] Strawberry and Champagne: None of these two come to mind when i smell this. Instead, i just smell something sweet. This doesn't have a very strong definable scent.

Overall, i rate Pear Glace, My Desire and Strawberries and Champagne as my favourite because the fragrance appeals to me the most. Pop by a Victoria Secret Store and find out what you prefer. It's quite hard to choose because Victoria's Secret always comes up with the best fragrances. Their perfumes are heavenly.

Theres one in Herald Sq NY just so you know. The store is two storeys, so prefer to spend lots of time shopping!
