Coastal Scents Chianti and Bare Naked Glossi Glazes

The gorgeous little pots.

Glossi Glaze is made with an all natural base that is moisturizing, applies super glossy, thicker and creamier than other lip glosses and imparts beautiful, dazzling colors.

Glossi Glaze is made with an all natural base that is moisturizing, applies super glossy, thicker and creamier than other glosses, imparts beautiful dazzling colors and stays on longer than any other I have tried in my lifetime so far. This is not your daughters lip gloss from years ago, it is actually between a gloss and a lipstick that can be worn by all ages.

The lips are a focal point on your face, everyone looks at them when you speak, even when you are not someone will be watching.

Begin by pushing and swirling your lipbrush inside the pot, this allows it to melt a bit and load the hairs. It works the same with your finger, just begin swirling with a very slight pressure. You are now ready for application.

As quoted from Coastal Scents website.

For some reason, i find the little pots that house the product really cute. I guess it's the mixture of the round cover and square container that wins me over, and i have no idea why. It's small enough to slip into your pouch if you go out so that you can touch up wherever you are.

Left: Chianti Glossi Glaze. right, Bare Naked Glossi Glaze.

Let me start off with the Bare Naked Glossi Glaze.

I bought this because i was looking for a really nice nude lip gloss that i can pair with heavier eye makeup. The gloss has a caramel colour, and is shimmery.

I applied the lip gloss using my fingers, and i found it was more like a lip balm instead of a lip gloss. It's definitely creamier than other lip glosses, and doesn't have that immediate shiny effect. In fact, i thought it was a little bit too dull in terms of the shine so i wasn't really impressed.

I decided that hey, maybe i should use this for school because then i can moisturize my lips without having too much of that glossy look going on which is weird for school. So i applied this in the morning and after 3 hours, went for a break with my friends. My friend noticed i was wearing lip gloss, which i found surprising because i thought it was totally unnoticeable! Turns out i was wrong.

I applied this another time with a lip brush instead, and found out that it is more noticeable when applied with a lip brush, so, if you want more shine and colour, use a lipbrush but if not, then just use your fingers!

This gloss is perfect is you want a natural look without too much shine and it really moisturizes your lips. It also gives your natural lip colour a little bit more oomph. Great natural colour.

Chianti Glossi Glaze

I was really excited to try this one out, because i've been looking EVERYWHERE for the perfect dark red with a hint of plum lip colour and when i saw this on the coastal scents website, i thought it would be perfect.

However, the colour when applied to lips lacks the depth that i want. I used to not like this gloss so much because my hopes of finding the perfect dark red lip colour was dashed when the colour wasn't as intense as i would have liked it to be.

Theres a bright side to things though. Since im young, i realised that maybe such a strong dark red would look too mature and a stain would be better. This gloss works perfect as a red lip stain. Looks like crushed berries when you layer a lot of it on, which is perfect because it's not too dark such that it becomes unflattering. It also has a slight sheen to it, which makes lips look healthy and is not too shiny too. In fact, it gives a 'just made out with someone' vibe. The colour is also just right. Doesn't make you look like you overloaded on lipstick.

Thus, i conclude that both the Chianti and Bare Naked have impressed me such that i would want to keep using them over and over again. The prices are also impressive, with one lip gloss going for USD $5. I don't think you can beat such prices! Where to get them?

You have to buy them online from the Coastal scents store. Order above $100 and domestic delivery will be free. I recommend you get the 88 colour palette too and the neutral palette because both are some of my most awesome makeup purchases. I have yet to review the 88 palette and when i have the time, i will get around to doing it. For now, im just having fun experimenting with all the colours and having fun.

Oh, and i forgot to mention, all of this is made with minerals, so i guess people with sensitive skin can also apply!

This has got to be one of my favourite body moisturizing creams in a long long time. If you love fruity scents, this one's perfect for you!

when i first smelled this product, i was blown away by the scent. I seriously love the smell of this moisturizing cream. Often, product descriptions aren't true to the product and they tend to make the product sound better than it really is. For this one, this cream fits the description EXACTLY. Im transported onto white beaches filled with silky white sand and the gentle sea breeze ruffling my hair as the turquoise waves of the sea gently lap on the shore.

The cream itself isn't too greasy either, and absorbs into the skin, leaving it wonderfully scented. love love love this cream.

Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ Truly paradise found. 5 stars for this one.

Body Shop Spa Wisdom African Spa Salt scrub

Given description:
Best if you want to: Take time to cleanse and revitalize your skin using an enlivening body scrub with exfoliating salt grains and a warm, floral, fruity scent.

Best for: all skin types, particularly those with dry skin who need to exfoliate regularly

How it works:

Community Trade organic beeswax moisturizes and conditions skin while acting as a barrier to help seal in moisture.
Community Trade shea butter moisturizes and softens skin.
Salt grains gently exfoliate skin.

Quoted from: Bodyshop website

The packaging of this product is really pretty. I like the flip top cover, though it can be a little difficult to flip open but still, the product does look very spa-ish and looks very nice sitting by your bathtub.

The product is easy to scoop out, and it has a very thick texture like thick mud. You have to use quite a lot of product to effectively scrub one area because the grains aren't as big as i thought they would be and one thing you have to note is that as you continue to rub, the salt grains become smaller and smaller till they cease to exist. I don't know why this happens, i guess the salt melts or something. I didn't expect this to happen so i guess this isn't such a good exfoliating product as i thought it would be.

However, the amount of shea butter inside this product should be enough to keep your skin soft and smooth. When the salt grains disappear, you feel like you are rubbing thick intensive lotion onto your body.

As for scent, smells like those spa products but then again, its hard to define it.

I guess this product would be good for people who want gentle exfoliation and more moisturizing. The small salt grains do not hurt your skin and the shea butter in it compensates for the lack in the exfoliation field.

Crabtree & Evelyn Cooks Citrus handwash and hand therapy

This comes as a package together in a swank, sink-side caddy. I really like the caddy. It's a good size for putting bottles of lotions/creams etc and will make a great gift. Now let me review the products individually...

Citrus Deodorising Hand Wash (500ml)

Given description:
Deodorises your hands and leaves them refreshed with a clean, herbal scent! Formulated with natural conditioning extracts of sage, rosemary, alfalfa, carrot and cucumber. Convenient pump dispenser.

The soap is a lemony creamy colour, and is easy to pump out. One thing i like about this is even though it is a deodorising soap, it isn't too strong. Most deodorising soaps i've encountered previously are either too strong or have a nasty chemical smell. This hand soap is neither. I don't need a lot of soap to get my hands feeling clean either.

As for the scent, it's nothing to shout about but i'm sure the crisp refreshing smell will brighten your day anytime.

Citrus Hand Therapy Cream (250ml)

Given description:
Moisturize and nourish hands with this shea butter therapy cream, infused with antioxidant vitamin A, D and E. A delicious blend of pink grapefruit, orange and lemon naturally banishes even lingering onion and garlic odors.

The scent of this product is slightly different from the hand soap it comes with. I can't really say which one i like better, because both are unique in their own way. I like that this one is smaller sized than the hand soap, because i don't moisturize my hands everytime after i wash it so it would make more sense to have less moisturizer to come with it cos i simply don't use so much.

The cream is ultra absorbent and doesn't leave a greasy residue, which is a big plus for me too. Sometimes, i hate putting hand cream because they leave my hands greasy and when i touch stuff, the grease gets on them. Non-greasy hand cream is a BIG thumbs up for me. The scent isn't too strong either, which is great.

I think both products are great used together.

You can get this at any crabtree and evelyn store. You can get the entire package together with the soap, cream and caddy for S$73, or the individual soap for S$30 and the cream, S$65. Obviously, it would make more sense for you to buy the package cos you get the cute caddy thrown in!

Yardley English Lavender Moisturizing bath foam

There isn't any description of this bath wash, but i guess you shouldn't need one.
I really like the lavender scent in this one. Actually, most people think that the scents in all lavender products are the same but nope, they aren't. This one compared the the Crabtree and Evelyn one i reviewed a few posts back is better. I prefer the scent here, though i actually haven't used this in the bath. I've used it as a shower foam though!
The consistency of this bath foam is more runny then the C & E one and smells fresher. I have no idea why.
I bought this at some pharmacy in Oxford, England.
