Let me tell you people, this product, to put it frankly, sucks.

There are 3 types of this product, purple, beige and white. I used the white one, which was supposed to blend to a transparant finish. The fluid came out watery, so i was expecting a smooth blend. I was horribly mistaken. Not only was this difficult to blend and hard to absorb by my skin, it left my skin sticky and really white!! And when i mean white i don't mean the nice translucent type of white that everyone wants. I mean the type of white that looks like you put on a foundation that is too light for your face and you didn't even blend it in! Thats the type of white im talking about.

I felt really self conscious when i left the house, and one of my friends even asked me why i looked so pale.

OF course i refused to tell him why.

Anyway, it was really sticky as well. Felt like sweat and grime and made my face really oily as well. Even after blotting it with a tissue, my hair kept sticking onto my face whenever the wind blew, and of course, made my hair sticky as well.

It said on the back "Perfectly hydrated all day long, skin feels soft, smooth, ready for make-up".

I don't think so. It does not make your face soft, nor does it make it smooth and if it's not smooth, it's definitely not ready for makeup!

I would advise you all NOT to buy this product. Gave me a hard time and made me look like a chinese opera extra.

Rating: Zero hearts. Thats how bad it is.

Taken from : http://store.crabtree-evelyn.com/collections-naturals.html

I really love the packaging of this product. A nice rust coloured glass tub that stores the cream inside. Really easy to unscrew too.

The cream smells divine, i guess thats the reason why i bought this in the first place. It smells absolutely heavenly, one of those smells-good-enough-to-eat products.

I heard though, that Crabtree & Evelyn use a lot of fragrances in their products so i wouldn't recommend their products to those with sensitive skin. My mum suffered an allergic reaction after using one of their lotions, specifically their Rose lotion, so yes, do avoid if you have sensitive skin.

This body butter is very creamy and thick. Not very easy to spread and leaves your skin feeling a little sticky, but i guess its the same for all body butters, like those in Bodyshop. I used it up surprisingly quick though. I do feel that my skin is smoother and softer so yeah, i think this product is rather good.

DO NOT EAT IT THOUGH.

I bought this in a Crabtree and Evelyn store in Paragon basement, beside Starbucks. You should be able to find this in any store however. Retails for $65. Not cheap but smells lovely and leaves your skin smooth.

Rating: ♥♥♥ ♥/ Three and a half hearts. Smells great but leaves your body sticky. May not be good for sensitive skins too.

L'Oreal Pure Zone Exfoliating Gel Wash

*sorry for the chinese words on the picture! Taken from another web

Given descriptionL
Blemish-prone skin is caused when there is an excess of sebum and an accumulation of dead skin cells, both of which can block pores. At times, excess bacteria can build up and imperfections appear.

This formula contains ISO BACTER technology with anti-bacterial exfoliating Salicylic Acid to help fight and effectively prevent te development of imperfections.

Instructions: Apply daily to wet face and gently massage, concentrating on the T-Zone area. Avoid delicate eye contour area. Rinse with clean water.

I like the design of this bottle, really easy to just flip the cap and squeeze when in the shower and everythings slippery. I don't like those where you have to unscrew the cap and then screw it back on. Takes a lot of time and i often drop the cap in the bathtub, and then i'll have to hunt for it.

This exfoliating gel was a lot more watery then i expected. The first time i used it a lot came out onto my hand so you have to take note that it does have a rather runny consistency.

The exfoliating beads are a nice size and don't hurt my skin too much when i scrub. The gel smells a little clinical, but it does give a fresh effect and after about 30 secs of scrubbing and then rinsing off, your face feels really clean and fresh. It has that type of cooling menthol effect that i love and is just great when you rinse with icy cold water to wake yourself up.

I wouldn't recommend using this daily however, as it did cause my skin to start peeling, esecially around the nose area. My skin was smoother and clearer after a week of using it so i would say this is rather effective. I now use it once a week.

I am unsure of how much this costs, i would say maybe about $14 + SGD? Check out your nearest pharmacy for it, Watsons and Guardian should stock it, along with other Pure Zone products. I would recommend this to students looking for a way to clear their spotty skin, but do not have much money.

Rating: ♥♥♥♥ Gives a great fresh feeling and clears up some of your spots.

Body Shop - Strawberry Body Polish

Given description:
Have good, clean fun and smooth skin at the same time thanks to this fragrance foaming gel-based scrub that's gentle enough to use every day. Dead skin cells are removed in no time, revealing brighter, healthy-looking skin thanks to natural exfoliators.

- Organic honey : Moisturizes and helps condition the skin. Helps protect and preserve the forest as well as providing necessary income for beekeepers, an increasing number of which are now women.

- Natural strawberry extract : Conditions the skin.

-Contains walnut shell and kiwi seeds too.

Instructions: Massage in circular movements over your body to help boost circulation. Rinse off in the bath or shower. Use everyday for maximum effect. Regular exfoliating and massaging can help tone and firm skin. When dry, moisturize with Strawberry Body Lotion.

The texture of this gel is really thick, almost creamy like. Smells really wonderful, and thats what i love about Bodyshop products. Their products really smell good enough to eat, and i dare say, this one is no exception.

Tell you a little secret. There was once i was using this product in the shower, and it smelled so good i actually tasted it! Well, it was bitter. So now you guys can finally know the truth...and you can avoid my mistake of tasting it cos i thought it was good enough to eat. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES EAT IT.

This product has a nice amount of crushed walnut shells and kiwi seeds to scrub your body. I hate it when scrubs don't have enough of these 'scrubbers' and you have to squeeze out a really large amount just to exfoliate one part of your body.

This product is quite easy to wash off too, and leaves a nice lingering scent of strawberries, like you've just been soaking in a bathtub filled with milk and crushed strawberries! Ooh luxurious! And it leaves your skin baby soft and smooth too.

Retails at $20 USD, i bought mine at Bodyshop in Paragon Basement. Kovan mall and Tampines mall has a Bodyshop too, and you probably can find this at any decent Bodyshop in most malls actually. (Applies to S'pore)

Rating: ♥♥♥♥ Lovely smell, and leaves your skin silky smooth

~H2O+ Purifying Seaweed Shower Therapy

Given description:
Gentle fruit acids and seagrass extract help eliminate skin aging dead cells and impurities, leaving skin refreshed and smooth. Nutrient intense kep extract and sandalwood oil deliver penetrating moisture. Enriched with natural cucumber extract to soothe and soften.

-Helps Eliminate Skin Aging Dead Cells & Impurities
-Leaves Skin Refreshed & Smooth
-Instantly Restores Luster, Tone & Suppleness To Dehydrated Skin
-Enriched With Natural Cucumber Extract To Soothe & Soften
-Contains Seaweed, Seagrass And Kelp

Honestly, that really is the colour of the gel. I find it really horrible, like a murky yucky green.

When i first used it, i squeezed the shower gel onto my palm and i was wondering why it looked so icky and when you tilt your hand it doesn't flow down your palm, it slides down. It has the consistency of hair conditioner. However when you smooth it on your body it glides on, so the consistency isn't bad. I really dislike the smell however.

I thought it was rather smelly when i first used it, but then i got used to it so i didn't mind the smell that much. However, as the days go by, it seems to smell worse and worse. I don't know why.

I wouldn't recommend this product. I didn't much change in the smoothness of my skin so there really is nothing remarkable. Some other shower gels i've used don't really have much effect either on my skin, but they do smell so much better.

Retails at USD 14.50, not cheap for a shower gel. I got this in Marshalls in New York, so im not sure if there are H20 boutiques in Singapore.

Rating: ♥♥ I've come across a lot better shower gels, and for the price, you can definitely get better ones.

Special: Bath&Body Works

This week, we're looking at a whole new range of wonderful products from Bath&Body Works. Bath and Body Works sells great products that smell absolutely heavenly, so this week, i shall be reviewing the Warm Vanilla Sugar Anti-Bacterial Gentle Foaming Hand Soap.

GIven description:
Soft bursts of lightweight foam gently wash away dirt and germs, while leaving skin soft and lightly scented. Our Warm Vanilla Sugar fragrance blends vanilla, coconut and basmati rice with a touch of soft sandalwood to create a rich and cozy scent.
Domestic.

-Triclosan kills germs
-Aloe vera soothes skin
-Pro-Vitamin B5 nourishes skin

Firsty,I love how it actually foams, like what it says on the bottle. Im so sick of products claiming that they do this or they do that and in the end, they just don't.

The bottle can actually be 'locked', by turning the nozzle away from two lines drawn there so that when pressed, nothing will come out and this is really handy for travelling.

The liquid in the bottle comes out as white foam, and smells really like vanilla sugar. This scent doesn't smell artificial, which is a plus too, and is not too cloying.

The foam really washes away the dirt and bacteria too, because i used it after playing with my dogs and i could see the white colour of the foam change to grey colour! Either my dogs are really dirty, or this foam is really good.

When washed away your hands are left lightly scented and soft. This soap doesn't leave your hands dried out. Since i suffer from eczema, that is a real good thing because i can't have my hands constantly dried out everytime i use soap right?

The sad thing about this product though, is that it's only available in the States! It's not available in Singapore, so i have to get my cousins to get it for me whenever she comes down from the US. Or another way to get it is from the website, which has great layout and is really easy to find items.

http://www.bathandbodyworks.com/home/index.jsp

The price of this product is cheap too, and definitely won't bust your pocket. Retails at USD 5 for one and USD 10 for three. For such a wonderful price, whats not to love?

Rating: ♥♥♥♥ ♥/ 4 and a half hearts! Wonderful!

L'Occitane Cleansing Water for face, eyes and lips

Description given on bottle:

A gentle alcohol-free make-up remover that tones skin in one step. This unique fluid, rich in orange blossom floral water, Shea and cassia extract, is perfectly adapted to dry skin and respects the fragility of the eye area. After use, the skin is soft, the complexion refreshed and luminous.

To use: Apply in morning and evening with a cotton pad or spray it directly onto the face for a refreshing effect. May also be used in conjuction with Cleansing Milk.

This product has a really nice fragrance, light and floral. Feels really good after a hot day, when you've washed your face because it is very refreshing when sprayed directly onto the face. However, you have to be careful as even though this product states that it is alright to be used on the eye area, it is NOT alright when it gets in your eyes. So while spraying do avoid spraying on the eye area and please close your eyes because it stings a lot.

Dries quite quickly too, in about 15 seconds. The spray isn't that good though, it takes a few squirts to actually get a big shot of mist, but what i really think is the best about this product is the fragrance, light and not overpowering.

Comes in 100ml. Retails for about 20 USD, 30SGD. Available at L'Occitane counters in Takashimaya Ngee Ann City and the shop in Takashimaya. There should be a L'Occitane shop in Ngee Ann City too.

Overall rating: ♥♥♥ Not bad.

Shu Uemura Depsea Moisture Replenishing Lotion

Given description of it :

The first step in the Depsea Moisture Replenishing skincare regimen. An ultra-soft and lightweight toning water that smoothes and replenishes skin with a complex of Empowered Depsea Water, Skin Flora Controller and Three Seaweed Extract. With use, skin is smooth, moisturized and radiant.

-Depsea Water and Advanced Hydrating Agents replenish skin and help lock in moisture

-Three Seaweed Extracts provide long-lasting hydration for up to 8-hours

-Skin Flora Controller gently removes dead skin cells to promote smooth, radiant skin

-Apply after cleansing, before moisturizer; Apply directly onto face or with Original Cotton

-Suitable for those seeking extra-hydration

Okay im sure the title of this product is a wee bit confusing. Just by reading the name, one would think it is a moisturiser. Well, this is in fact, not a moisturiser.

This is actually a light weight alcohol-free toner that is supposed to tone your skin without stripping it of it's natural moisture like some other alcohol toners.

What i like is the fact that it does not contain alcohol. I find that toners that contain alcohol smell rather bad and also leave my face feeling parched. Some might find alcohol-based toners refreshing, but this is one example of a toner that leaves you feeling refreshed without the harsh use of alcohol. You only need to use a wee bit of it on a cotton pad every night, after you have cleansed your face and before you put on your other creams.

It smells rather floral-y, and feels light on the face. Takes about 30 secs to get fully absorbed and plumps up skin. Looks just like water actually.

Now this is a product i would really recommend to you all. I have oily/combination skin and due to hormones, small zits and blackheads on my nose. After about a week of using this toner, i noticed a very obvious difference in my skin.

This is not a product that claims to work but actually does not. It did wonders for my skin, something which i thought was a lost cause. It surprisingly helped my pimply skin, and my skin cleared up a lot after a week. I was pleasantly surprised because i've gone through so many prducts which claim to help my skin and none work and when i came over this product, i thought it was just another 'say not do' product. So yes, i definitely recommend this highly, and so this has the honour of being the first product to star on my blog!

Retails at about 30USD, bout 45SGD? Not very sure, but it is certainly worth every cent! You can get this at any Shu Uemura counter, theres one in Tangs Orchard, Takashimaya Orchard and Metro Paragon. (Singapore)

Overall rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 hearts! Maximum rating!

Love

My first ever post

Welcome all readers out there to www.be-bodylicious.blogspot.com !

I've had this passion for body and face products, and after trying out so many, i've decided to share my expertise and knowledge on the products i've used with all of you out there.

Note that this blog is not a blogshop, therefore do not query me on whether im selling a particular product or not. ALL products are not for sale. This blog is strictly for product reviews only.

I realise that sometimes, you might buy a certain product due to attractive packaging, promised results and etc. But it is often after you've bought it do you find out that it actually doesn't work or doesn't suit your skin very well. Some products can cause very adverse reactions to those with sensitive skins. However, there are a few jewels in the market that im here to source out for you.

I have got some very good recommendations for all of you, but we will come to that in the future posts. I review face and body products, makeup and perfume included.

I will try my very best to provide you with as much information about the product as possible. I hope you do not mind if my photos show half-used products, because i normally use the product over 2 weeks or more before giving you a review, to be fair.

But for now, i hope you sit back, relax, and enjoy my blog! :)
